Early in the morning on March 1,2010 around 1:30AM,  Station 1 was called to Quincy St. in Jamestown Township to assist them on a house fire. The house sat off the road about 1,300 feet so getting equipment in was a bit of a challenge. Tankers and man power were called in from Salem, Overisel, Zeeland, Hudsonville, and Blendon Townships. Firefighters attempted an interior attack but heavy fire and smoke conditions pushed them out. The ladder truck was then set up to knock down the flames and all firefighters were ordered out of the structure. There was substantial damage to the home’s structural integrity including the roof. The homeowners where home at the time and managed to escape without injury.  The fire is under investigation.
